But it's a little too far away for me to attend. I've always wanted to go to a Highland Games celebration. Guess it's the Scottish in me - plus I actually like the sound of bagpipes well played.
One of my sister's friends teaches Highland Dancing. She and her sister used to win all the competitions when they competed years ago.
Would love to watch the caber toss championship, too.
By the way William, how is it that you wind up having to attend the family reunion of a family that's not your own? I was under the impression that you were a single guy. Arm twisted into it by a girlfriend? The things love will do to a guy, huh?;)
Never been with a girl long enough to meet her family;) My Dad's girlfriend's family is having one this coming weekend. She's going through treatment for cancer right now, was diagnosed in may.
They wanted my sister and younger brother (the two favourites) to go but my brother said no so when they had me in the car with them alst week they gave the classic:
Nancy: "No pressure, you don't have to go if you don't want to-"
Dad: "BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU DID! "
Who am I to turn down the request of a cancer patient?
Lots of Scottish festivals around these parts
(although Fergus is by far the biggest) being as this is BRUCE county. I've jsut been unable to make any. Always something else ahppening.
I'm sorry to hear about your father's girlfriend. I hope her treatment goes successfully. I have an aunt that's going through all that rigamarole right now.
Think of it this way, maybe you'll meet a girl there. You'll have all of that meeting with her family thing already taken care of. LOL:laugh:
