Sometimes I get excited about my work...

This little snippet was taken from a bar-room conversation recorded on a DVD Production called "Scribes" that was shot at the Surrey International Writers' Conference in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada a few years ago. There's not a lot to it, but it captures the intimacy and the urgency that distinguished this conference above and beyond all others in my mind. The event, which at capacity can accommodate about 620 writers, is jam-packed every year--sold out months in advance--and from start to finish (a three-day marathon) it is non-stop buzz and deep-fat-frier immersion in the Craft of Writing.
